So, could you post your lighting settings? I'm trying to achieve realistic looking speculars on ships, light on the Deimos in first Homesick screen look perfect.

I use the light settings that Spidey uses to take screenshots.

Light settings on my pics were:
-fov 0.65  -spec_exp 7.0 -spec_tube 5.0 -spec_point 8.6 -spec_static 3.0 -ambient_factor 75  -no_emissive_light

which are basically Castors settings found here: http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Sample_Lighting_Settings

running in 1920x1200 with 8xAA and 16xAF.

It allows for nice "metallic" looking reflections from several angles and puts an emphasis on directional light sources, including weapons fire, and as a result, how things "look" in game can vary greatly, depending on what campaign or even which mission you play and what light sources (i.e. stars) are present there.

Forget who did the model ... I think it was Raptor, the mapping was done by VA.

Haha, in this case Raptor made the original mesh, and I rebuilt it to be more in line with the original ship: [1] [2] [3]

Mine are: -mod mediavps -env -normal -nomotiondebris -spec -glow -mipmap -snd_preload -fps -fov 0.65 -spec_exp 7.0 -spec_tube 5.0 -spec_point 8.6 -spec_static 3.0 -ambient_factor 80
And forcing some AA on driver level.

Interesting... That Hades almost looks like a Gold re-skin, but I am sure it's only reflections from explosions.
