I did a bit of private action with my moderator powers in the SWC forum. I opened a TEST thread and I started to test my powers with it. I experienced a lot of things(everything a moderator should know). I erased the first post and then I got the 'Invalid thread specified' message next. I came back to the forums and IT SEEMED AS IF the thread was still there. I clicked on refresh and the thread disappeared. Do you know if it was completely removed?

I am asking because I do not know if I did something permanently wrong.

It's gone. The page was most likely still present in the temporary cache on your HDD, and when you refreshes, it reloaded the page, rather than recalling the cached one that it accessed originally.

In other words: You're safe.

Sometimes it can be useful.  for the first time in since i was given the capability to do things...i used my mod stuff.  I stickied a thread. lol

i don't think most moderators even bother doing what they can.  so while yeah it is overrated.....we can't just be handing the power to every newb who posts what it must be nice to have em.

Very true. I'm a mod over at NW. All I really do there is a title swap every now and then... (Since threads are hardly ever locked there...)

Also in the TVWP forums. I've had to lock a few threads in there... *eyes DC, Tin Can, and himself*

Moderator powers are especially useful if you do something wrong you wouldn't be able to restore without moderator powers(typing mistakes in thread names or poll options).

About the only time I touch the moderating powers is when I need to sticky a thread, or clean up some of the old crap that will never be used again.

I was admin in everquest site long ago (until one day it just vanished after i came from vacation) then few other thing here and there..... soon maybe another when World of warcraft comes
all of those are/were small sites

I did have mod powers in one of hosted forums here too little time. because of one small thing
