Karate is more about philosophy, physical education and doing something that makes you content.
I think someone who has experience in beating other people up still is superior to a Karateka.
A Karateka has no real knowledge of CLOS INFIGHT, as soon as the opponent gets really close ( ellbow/knee distance ) he is helpless. And forget about all the blocking techniques, they are useless in real combat.
He made the green belt, and that is something he CAN be proud of, no matter if he would prevail in a real combat situation or not.
If you are interested in being able to WIN REAL fighting situations TKD is slightly superior to Karate I think, but still no match to WingTsun.
