Methinks people need to pay more attention in health class if they don't know what an areola is. :p (That or the education system needs a solid kick to the head)

It seems all of the Americans in the North and Northeast parts of the country whine about the most stuff I have ever seen. Sues every way you look, big news about someone spilling hot coffee in their lap and filing a LAWSUIT because of it. Us southern people try and relax a bit. :wtf:

uhh...what?

I think this all fits in nicely with the whole "family (American, relgious, call it what you will) values" type agenda. You know, like John Ashcroft (Attorney General) covering up a naked statue with a sash. He did that you know. Its exactly like that one Simpsons episode, I kid you not.

Why must all people be critized for what there STUPID country does...

For **** sake... this makes me sick!!!
I will only say one thing...
If what you al say is true, I think I'll HATE Germans and Japs because they fought my country in WWII...
I Hate ALL white people because they enslaved black and Indian people.

You Rictor I thought you would understand... :(

Is there truly no one that thinks the way I do?

I DON"T SHARE AMERICAN VAlUES!!!  I'm too smart to realize that America is not what it seems and tells you it is.

But, my family they are!!!  It's in there music, it's in there lifes everyday, you don't believe this way you should be charged with treason... Yet, I don't have the balls to tell them, but they are good people and work hard for a living!!! Believe me my mom works overtime and on weekends for no extra pay...  My dad is a firefighter and a ambulence driver and the best person I know!!!

I cannot express how disappointed I'am to here this
:(

Calm down man. No one ever mentioned anything about all Americans being a certain way, I don't know where you're getting this from. I personally believe that the vast majority of Americans, and indeed people in general, this that what the airline did is stupid and that such stringent moral codes should not be forced on the public. This has nothing to do with the American people, and certainly not with you or your family, it has to do with an ignorant and ultra-conservative government, as well as the a highly restrictive and conservative polcies enacted by certain businesses.

I now that the actions of the American government do not always speak for its citizens. Thats the case pretty much anywhere.

edit: To clarify, I used the term "American values" (in quotes on purpose, because it is not accepted as fact) in my previous post because for certain people, specifically those supportive of such invasive measures, "American values" is synonymous with "Christian values", "family values", "traditional values" and so forth. It was not meant as a generalization against all Americans, I would have thought that is obvious.

That's rather insulting. Would you like it if I used Southern stereotypes to describe you? Any stereotype is by its very nature insulting, and insults your own intelligence by using it.

It may be somewhat unfair to people in the States who are different form the norm, but your government was voted in by American citizens. That means that (theoretically, there's all that electoral college crap) the majority of U.S. citizens thought Bush (and therefore his political opinions, what he'd do for the country, his religious affiliations, his running mates, so on) was fit for running the country.

That means voting citizens are obviously going to be responsible for what the government does and are a reflection of it. That's why you get criticised.

Eventually when you can vote, you can help push the government (hence the people's image) in a direction to where it won't be mocked by everyone else (another reason you shouldn't be apathetic concerning politics).

BTW: I'm not saying that we should consider you or any other specific American as an idiot (or whatever). I'm just talking about situations where you refer to American society in general.
