Fair enuff.

Not a big joystick user myself, to be honest.  Last one lasted since 1996 or so, only replaced it because I changed to a PC without a gameport.

[color=66ff00]You been talking to my mate James? He ends a lot of his sentinces with innit and I've noticed your use of it is on the increase.

I use that joystick for fs2, and apart for some of the twiddly things (fs2 won't recognize all the spinny ones...), use all the buttons.

i had the older version of that stick (the x-36, the only real difference was it was black and was gameport compatable) and i got a good 2 years out of it before it stopped working. its a good controller i just wish it came with a set of rudder peddals.

I have that exact thing, very sweet thing for its price range. In my case it was a gift so that makes it even better. :p

If you want longevity in a stick though (and don't care much about price) you should get a Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar.
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman

Get a Cougar. It is the most in-****ing-sane 'stick ever made. Solid metal construction, customisation tools up to the wazoo. You could probably program this 'stick to run FSO

The X-45 is but a pale imitation! :D

The only downside with it is you need bionic arm-enhancements and a reinforced table to use the damned thing.

Boy I bet you'll be glad it has that handguard on the stick - wouldn't want to smash yer fingers into the front panel of the monitor in "Dive! Dive! Dive!", now would you? :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

If that second handle is the throttle, hehe...

.....well, let's just say it won't help you.

This is probably good for some super type game such as Real Flight Simulator XYZ, but it's not going to do FS much good.

Meh, to each his own I guess. I'm using mine for....two to three years. All shaky, but it can kick ass almost as much as it could when it was new.
