Apparently the person in first place in the Olympic Marathon was leapt on by a member of the crowd and pushed into the sideline. Theres no reports up yet, but the Brzaillian runner who was attacked ended up coming in third from a 30 second lead.

The only other thing they could have done was declare the Marathon Null and Void, and pin the blame on this man, but considering that he's an attention whore, it's the sort of thing he would enjoy.
It was either let the race stand as it was, or be unfair to all the other runners who have done 20 miles. I suppose they could subtract the time he was off the track from his running time, but I doubt it will feel like a victory to anyone involved no matter what

From what I can find out about the guy hes been based in London since he was ordained 30 years ago, so he probably be going back there. Probably explain why the garda didnt give him a "questioning" too, though priests are kinda above the law down here.
