Yes, that's what I thought, so as the ship enters Lod1, it draws all the Subsystems as Lod1 etc. I just thought it would be great if there was a way of doing it relative to the subsystem. That way if you are over a ship that is large, and there is one subsystem near you and one subsystem, say, 2km away but still attached to the same ship, it could be displayed as a lower-poly version, you could effectively use more polygons on subsystems if the lodding worked that way

As for the main-ship lodding, what I mean is, say you have a ship that is 800m wide and 3km long? Now, iirc, the Lod distance is taken as distance from the centre of the ship, so, when you are 2.5km away from the centre, you are only 1km away from the hull if you are coming in from behind but are over 2km from the hull when approaching from the side?
