Firefox just seems to work much smoother for me that IE6 did. I think it might load a bit faster...that, and it looks nicer too.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

yeah, but you all seem so eager to convert everyone to firefux users, so all I'm asking for is reasonable arguments that could make me try it out. as it is now, all you can say is "I leik it! 0pera and EI suxxxor!"

It's more secure.
It runs faster.
There's tabbed browsing. (Which can be disabled.)
There's excellent support.
It's not made by Microsoft.
It's skinnable.
It supports most plugins. (So far.)
Etcetera.

WE don't need to convince you. If you like what you're using keep what you're using. If you dislike it, however, give it a try, and se for yourself.

It's the most comfortable interface I've ever used, it's far more secure than IE (I can't account for it Vs other browsers),  it's reliable, it has a load of nice integrated things, such as pop-up blockers and the DL manager, and I wouldn't swap it for any other browser I've tried.

The reason I didn't like Opera was that when I used it, IIRC it had integrated adverts unless you paid.  There was another browser I tried, which had a unique yet horribly uncomfortable interface, whose name I forget.

all I can say, is that I tried Opera, Firefox and a number of other freeware browsers at the same time (as IE had become completely non-functional, crashing whenever a new window popped up) - and I picked Firefox as being by far the best, based upon simply how I felt using it.

Sandwich was giving them out in this thread, but he's since halted that for a bit. Pending a better distribution method.

I've been using Firefox for three days now, and I'm definately impressed. Bye bye, IE6. I won't see you for a while.

For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. Have they improved the integration of DL managers?

That's been my only gripe with FF has been the DL manager.  I want to be able to integrate Flashget or DAP without having to get a plugin.

I don't see why you'd need to. You can pause FF downloads and resume them later as well.

Flashget has a more intensive connection dialog, can do multiple thread downloading and has support for FTP browsing.
I hadn't gotten down to trying all the downloading FF features especailly since I'm on dialup now, but I'm not 100% positive, that it feature all of that.
(... and some of us, have tons of stuff boomarked in Flashget for downloading 'till eternity. :b - being an anime fan has strange sideeffecs)
