I'm not a big F1 fan, but still me no likely. Especially as Germany has something like 2 (or is it 3), as does italy (San Marino GP).

****ing Bernie Ecclestone is a ******. Silverstone is one of the best bloody tracks, room to overtake, good fast corners and by all accounts a great atmosphere. Asshole.
What frequency are you getting? Is it noise or sweet sweet music? - Refused - Liberation Frequency.

F1's irrelevant nowadays anyway. Touring cars or GTs are much better.

Nah, most European races don't have tobacco advertising anymore, what's happened is that the people at Silverstone weren't prepared to pay the £9 million that Ecclestone was asking to bring the GP there. This isn't a problem for other countries as they have government subsidies to fund it, however not over here.

Personally I think this would be the perfect time for all the British F1 companies (most of them are based here in fact) to protest this. Can't see it happening though, too much money to be lost.

Ecclestone is a **** of the highest degree though.

My favourite circuit is the one at Silverstone. I know that track fairly well. I don't think I would miss it at all, though, I can still be cruising on that track in GP3! :)

You said it.  Britain is the home of F1 (yes I know the first ever race was in France) and this news just stinks.  :mad:

There are a lot of races in the season now, and all the circuits are starting to get emasculated.  Pretty soon you won't be able to tell one from the other - so lets keep the original and exciting tracks like Silverstone, Spa, Monaco, AND bring back the old Nurburgring! :nervous:

BTW: I thought the race in China was good, but the track seems so much like Malaysia, it was like a kind of replay...

Spa in belgium is better imo. But it's indeed stupid to drop Silverstone it's still a fun track.

The track, IIRC, is held in Imola in Italy.  It's as pointless as the Luxembourg GP which was held in Germany (now abandoned), or the European GP.... held in Germany.

Meh, I heard that Silverstone'll probably be included anyway. The calander doesn't have to be completed 'till late November, and even then it's not set in stone. Something that a 12 race year instead of 11? Apparently it's almost certain that the race'll included - Source: Radio 4 news.

I know jack about GP by the way, just thought I'd let you know...
