I'm sick of this slow-ass 750kbit **** (especially with the 128kbit uploading cap) and I'm looking to upgrade.

Unfortunately, on the residential packages, I've got wait till "the first quarter of 2005" for them to automagically upgrade me to 2Mbit for a £25 administration charge.

So I've been looking into the business-level packages, but NTL are ****ing retarded so they don't list anything resembling an estimated price on their site.

Anyone know: A) Where I can find one, or B) The prices from personal experience?

Or even some ideas for another broadband service with better speed and less-stupid caps.

Aside from Telewest's Blueyonder (which you won't be able to get in your area cos of NTL) that's the best you'll get in the UK... ADSL goes up to 1Mbit but everyone I know who has it has ultra-high pings and frequent download speed drops.

IIRC NTL won't install a business connection in a residential area because of limited capacity at their junction boxes

At least you have broadband. The cheapest broadband in my area (256/128) goes for 35 USD/month, which is more than my parents are willing to pay.

It's about that much in my area as well, but we get a connection that's super fast. Like ~2-3Mb/s depending on the download server.

If you still have a BT line, you could switch back and use PlusNet.  We have it at the office and it seems pretty quick and reliable....

I have Telewest. God damn they are by far the best broadband providers. Been with them four years now (was in the trials) and I can't fault them. No download limit, downspeed is good (1.5 mb/s for £36 a month between 3 people is cheap) and service is rock solid. I wish everyone could have Blueyonder because they tend to give a ****  about the service they provide.
