I'm a celebrity - in Finland, at least!
I've been meaning to post this, but keep on forgetting. A friend of mine interviewed me for an article she was to write for Finland's 2nd largest newspaper. So she interviewed me, sent it in, and it got published and all. I finally got a hold of a scan of the paper, so here it is:

What's it say? ;)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I think there are a few that can stay up as late as 0100, which is in 10 minutes.

or maybe they all drank too much and are sleeping under the tables. I heard it's pretty common there.

What was it for?? For her to make some well-needed money? ;)

It was about my life as an American-born Israeli citizen, my army service, living in the much-shot-at Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo (that pic is taken at a bus stop - note the concrete wall behind me, protecting people at the stop from the bullets coming from Beit Jala). That kind of stuff.

Yeah, it's called "Aamulehti", and it's indeed the second largest finnish newspaper. It's publishing is in Tampere, the city where I study.

The title's saying about how military service taught you to appreciate normal life, and how you'll always remember your unreal tour of duty in Jenin. I'd love to translate more to you, but it's 1.30am here and I really need some sleep. :)

That's pretty much what the titles say. I gotta prepare to leave to work so I don't even try to translate the rest. :D

Cool, man!
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

I suck at translating, so I'll leave it to someone else :p

Now I just have to wonder why is there a "w" instead of "v" in your nick?
