I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure this out! I don't understand how I could go from a FIRST edition Xbox working perfectly for Xbox Live to a NEW Xbox that seems to be crap.

try hooking up the XBOX directly into the modem, just to see if the xbox is at fault, if not, then it's a problem down the line somewhere, possibly onna your router's not allowing packets from the xbox to go through properly.  usually a firewall.

That doesn't make sense though. It worked perfectly before with the same setup.

It does too make sense. If the XBox is faulty and sudenly stopped working, you'd be driving yourself crazy for nothing.

Also... Does it work when plugged into only one router?

Does the router have a built in firewall? Have you upgraded the router's firmware?

hrm..   okay, try getting a laptop/pc on the same line as the one the xbox is on... and see if you can get an internet connect through..
regardless of whether the old one worked on it or not, the newer xbox doesn't work with your router, let's focus on that, eh? :)
and as bob suggested, try hooking the xbox directly with the modem.. trust me..

oh, and judging by your setup, you could have just a router and two hubs, which could make sense..

For your router setup, try a blank username and a password of 'admin', that usually works for most brands. You'll be able to see if the XBox has had an IP address doled out to it in there if it's a decent model
