I never got a welcome, but that's ok, iirc I jumped right into the middle of a heated political debate, so it probably wasn't the first thing on peoples minds ;)

Evil men, a newcomer MUST be welcomed even inside the middle of any debates.

I already announced my retirement twice, yet here I am. If I bring up that topic again, don't believe a word.

Should I disable the welcome beam?

You'll probably annoy Steak if you turn it off. He personally welcomes any newbies he sees using it.

Remove the beam. I'm sure Steak has a link to it somewhere, and we can all be creative with our message.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Who cares if Steak has it, I want it too. What's the problem with it being here?

Mind you, I had registered both here and at the VBB at the same time.

Spam without taste. You could have at least thrown a Monty Python reference in there.....

That's probably not the best Monty Python reference to use.
