By joining the UN you agree to accept all the resolutions already passed by the UN. This will change your nation.

But you can always leave the UN IIRC

Once I'm in... do new options open up?

And is there anything else to do besides just resolve issues every 12 hours?!

I wasn't trying to say that joining the UN turned me into a Civil Rights Lovefest. I think it was the ruling against mandatory voting that moved my nation away from being a Left-Leaning College State...

you need to wait for issues.

So the whole situation for this thing is just waiting every 12 hours to decide something? Seems boring.

The real fun is just in role playing, talking with other people. For example, I'm talking with another nation who wants me to join their region. But it seems that the events of FS1 are playing out in my nation.

As I said, it is a simulation where you deal with a few issues a day. In RL politics you don't see the government pass 16 pieces of legislation in a single day. The fact that you get 2 is pretty amazing :p

Don't expect an action pact game but a game where you gradually form your own nation.

Though, NationStates 2 is on the way and then you can go to war, trade and stuff in-game ;) But it will have a monthly fee IIRC :ick:

Role playing is fun. But i don't have the time to write now so i'm sticking with the simple stuff for now.

EDIT: Ah, 5 to 10 US dollars. Seems only 9% are willing to pay (out of 33,000)

BTW, how long does it take for them to send you a confirmation email? I've been waiting forever...

The Protectorate of Umbwigwi is a tiny, safe nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded morass -- juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Healthcare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 45%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Cheese Exports.

Crime is well under control. Umbwigwi's national animal is the raven, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the credit.

"The Kingdom of Massivebender is ... ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government,"

What!?  Its not a dictatorship!  Just because the people aren't alowed to vote doesnt mean I'm oppressing them too much.
Its just that people don't always agree, so I force them to with common sense, logic, and a tiny drop of compassion too.

Bah.

Also... now that we each have two endorsements, we can begin making proposals to the UN. :drevil:
