Now, I didn't like Hero or Crouching Tiger the first time I watched 'em, and they kinda grew on me (Hero especially), but this just seems too stupid for me to like.

AND they don't show the apocalyptic battle between the daggers and the soldiers at the end, which is just retarded.

It lacks the grace and plot of Tiger, and poorly immitates the visuals of Hero.

And the plot seems really small.

And seeing how it was made by the same dude who made Hulk (which contrary to just about  everyone, I happened to like), might be quite enjoyable.

Shaolin Soccer was just... dumb.
Maybe some (all) of the humor was lost in translation. It's not particularly impressive soccer wise, considering that so many of the stunts were CGed, and the martial arts parts were more goofy than anything.  

HofD, well, I think it would probably be better recieved if they just dropped the love story, and went the Iron Monkey route: NINJAS NINJAS NINJAS! When ever you come across plot hole, fill it with a bunch of ninjas and in the end everything works out.

Well, I didn't read the title as "Shoalin Soccer" -  because, well, that's not the title of the movie.

And I didn't expect that to be realistic - just entertaining, which it wasn't. The humor at its highest point approaches  slapstick comedy, which still wasn't done all that well.  Bend it like Beckham did the entire soccer-humor thing and was way more amusing to watch. This was like watching a poorly translated imitation of the Three Stooges.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was actually one of the worst of these types of movies from what I have heard. I'm not exactly sure why westerners always love these kinds of films. I guess it is because they always have at least one sex scene in them.

And yeah, it was not the best of the genre, by far. But it was shown on theater in our countries, the others were not, so it was "new" for the common mass, et voila, success.
