I like the new look, I didn't notice the two ads (unless its been fixed already) but I do have one problem however: We don't all run our desktops at 1024x768 and scrolling's a pain. Other than that,

Is multiple resolutions an issue? the formats more of a ***** to balance if it is, but I'd like to think everything was ok as it is (most people run at 1024x768 upwards anyway, but I understand that not everyone does).

Needless to say- we're talking over the improvments and so on, it's just a matter of time now...

One quick idea- since one very important chunk of HLP is the forums, I suggest you put a link to the forums close to the top of the page. Then, low-res users can get here without having to scroll down.

Besides, the Forums link is kinda buried as it is now.

Try running the HLP in 800 by 600 pixels recolution. This is the lowest resolution most people view their computers at. If a user uses a 1024 by 768 resolution, he can still see the web site.

However, if you make the site at 1024 by 768 resolution, people who prefer 800 by 600 would have to change the resolution JUST to view HLP. That is not very user friendly. Think of the general audience before implementation.

The only reason I'm running at 800x600 at all is its the maximum clear resolution my crappy 14" monitor can comfortably handle. It can do 1024x768 in a pinch but text is too fuzzy to read. I plan to rectify this situation ASAP but until I can round up the capital to do so I'm stuck at 800x600.

I originally designed the site to be viewable at 800x600 but Setekh made the banner too large... I plan to fix it once I can get to my system again... I've fixed the 2 banner ads thing 'tho...

I don't mean to sound like I'm picking holes in the new look but I just noticed this: The purple colour used to indicate links that have been followed doesn't contrast well with the red background, maybe you could lighten it a bit?

I agree. Very hard to see what's written there. Do something about it. maybe a lighter colour. Like orange or light green.

After looking around for a bit 'tho, I have noticed that some of the pages have some probs with the new look, so I'm gonna have to do a lot of "house-cleaning" for everything to be right... I might get around to doing that soon...

*May* have something to do with the default colours you have set up in your web browser (Tools > Internet options > Colours). Mine shows up as light and dark red.
