Sorry it took me so long, I've been busy.
Pic #1: I really can't find any technical problems, except perhaps the fact that the lighting on the Elysium looks a bit off- can't put my finger on it, maybe it's just my critical instinct looking for a flaw. The terrain is quite well done for terragen, although it could stand to look a bit more icy. The overall effect, however, is excellent, and however you're doing those thrusters, keep doing it.
Pic #2: This is my favorite of the two. The lighting is superb, marred only by the fact that the terrain behind the Orion doesn't look as good as the terrain in front of it- I know it's supposed to be the engine glow, but the blue spreads way too far. The low-flying Orion bothers me a bit, but otherwise, this one is great. That background looks a bit familiar, though...

Seriously though, this would look really cool with a shadowed Apollo or Perseus wing flying low over the water, into the sun...
