They're really helpful as long as you don't go be n00bish. If that NAME GOES HERE guy shows up, that'd be me. Once you start learning, it will get even better.

Best tip ever: never rush. Get your moves right, build up speed later. You try any other way, and your technique is going to be pretty messed up no matter how good you are.

Anyhoo - anon - you really won't get very good without some lessons of some sort. You can learn all the chord shapes and scales in the world, but you need to have someone with experience who can tell you how to do stuff, what you're doing well and what you're doing badly. Even if you just know someone else who plays, get 'em to help you. You'll improve much faster that way...
