That is because we trust in our host's security, which apparently is far from the case. Thanks to outdated vBulletin with hacks on top of hacks.

Anyone have anything more to add to this? Otherwise we can call it a day here and get on with fixing things. (Yeah, I'm still at home. The other admins aren't on - no small suprise then that things haven't been fixed in the last half an hour).

Anyhow, any more use for this thread an0n?

We need it to stand as a living testament to your inability to do anything even remotely right.

For starters, editting the access mask for the 'an0n' account does nothing but stop me finding out the extent of the problem. And on top of that, you only denied me access to Hosted and Staff. Everything else (Allumni, FS+ etc) is still perfectly visible and accessible.

I've told you about 5 times now that to fix the an0n account, all you've got to do is change it's usergroup, but instead you **** around with patch-work fixes.

Oh and to fix the Fattony account looks like it will almost certainly require some PHP recoding. At the very least, the server is ****ing up taking MySQL queries, and at the worst someone has been playing with the PHP.

Not really. You signed up to our forum - not the other way around. If you despise the way things are done around here so much then feel free to start your own FreeSpace site and make it better.... or to leave the community, or to go to another FS site if one exists?

But so long as you're here - you agree to the way we do things. Since you're not paying us to do anything, why should we jump to be as you want us? It really is the select and consistant few who have problems here.

You should consider to switch to phpBB because with it, you don't need to worry about license fees and can always upgrade to the latest version. It will take time to reintegrate content that is integrated with vBulletin but not originally part of it, but it would pay off in the long run.

But anyway, I believe things will get fixed in a way or another.

Well, I suppose any free forum will do. But it does seem that being quite young, SMF still has time to become just as bloated and poorly programmed as any of the other older forum softwares out there. This is however going slightly off topic now.

Well, as I said I'm the only admin around at the moment - and I'm now five minutes from leaving my house to head back to halls.

Hence - nothings being fixed. Nobody here to fix it.

But it will get fixed. For the time being - patchwork fixes were put in place by one of us (not me) to dissuade you from hacking data straight out of the forums. We'll deal with that one when we're done with everything else.

I'm going to leave this open so you can discuss amongst yourselves or make suggestions on how to fix things, but if it's spam by the time I get to another computer it'll just get locked.

See you in a couple of hours.

even for a frenchguy, that flamebait was lame. of course I know they're bullying you in secret. heck, I do it myself on the forums I admin. heck, I do it in the nodewar channel on irc for all to see. I do it at the nw forums as well, openly. I'd do it here, but then I'd get mails from thundar!?!!?! wondering if I've taken offence and **** all the while the club for internal appreciation does the same on the rest of you.

it's not that young, actually. I believe it's basically a fork of yabbphp or something, only a truckload better.
