KOTOR2 is eating my soul!
I got it four days ago...

Needles to say I wasn't on the net and I didn't do any modeling from that moment on. I barely forced myself to study a BIT and barely passed a test yesterday.

If KOTOR 2 is this good, I can't wait to see what Dragon Age will do to my allready deminishing life.

Guess what I've been doing for the past seven days :p

Finally got through the game with LS Jedi Consular/Master. Way too easy, but enjoyable nonehteless. And the ending is bad, especially after I read the stuff they cut out to get the game out in time. Next I'll try out a DS Guardian/Marauder.

Oh, and Force Wave + Force Storm kills anything from ordinary bladefodder to tougher bosses.

And here I am, having owned the game for more than a week, and still probably not even halfway through. Considering I've still got Onderon and Korriban unvisited.

Fun, fun, fun though. Wish there were more cameos by KOTOR1 characters. So far we've got, what, a couple of appearances by Carth, a whole lot of mentions of Revan, and Mandalore looks like he could be Canderous, judging by what Kreya said about him. Oh, and Master Vrook, and HK-47

 DARTH NIHILUS!!!!111

Stunaep, the various KOTOR1 cameos I've seen are:
Carth
Revan
Malak
Bastila
Vrook
HK-47
T3-M4
Vandar
"Pulling a Bindo."
Larp (the Rodian armsdealer on Dantooine with a 'noble purpose')
Canderous

HK and T3 are great this time around, especially HK's impressions of Carth and Bastila:
"Oh master, I love you but I hate everything you stand for! Now let's press our mucus covered lips together in the cargohold!"

Anyways, it's great. Except for the fact that Lucasarts forcing them to rush the game which caused so much to be cut from Malachor V...

If the rumors are true and KOTOR3 is in development and Obsidian is being given the time to make a new engine, etc. for it then it'll be awesome. (it better be for PC/XBOX2 though :p)

...and Kreia is truly evil.

I wish I could be playing this right now. I'll have to wait about two months though. At least I'll get to play it on a 6800GT...

I started a new game since I wanted a better go at it (some quest cannot be completed if you finish the main quest on a planet...duzgh!)

The thing is, as far as I gather you are bst off visting these planets first:
Onderon (you get Mandalore to join you)
Nar Shadaa (you get that female bounty hunter AND you can turn Atton into a jedi after the onversation on this planet)
Dantooine (lots of jedi stuff to find)

The best way to go is to level Handmaiden and Atton to lvl 10 and after that DON'T press lvl up. Wait for the opportuniti to train them inot jedi..they kick ass...
Oh.and don't turn that shopkeeper on Tanis to the police before you empty his stock

Yeah, I got it too, and I've sunk a bunch of time into it already.  I'm enjoying it, but it's crashed a few times on me, and onece mucked up the models in weird way.  There are some little bugs here and there, and the script so far doesn't feel anywhere near as tightly done as the original.  And the cutscenes, which act very, very strange.  It's like the strung two or three little ones together for whatever reason.  Might be for the dark/light divisions or something, but it's quite strange and caused the game to crash.

I've heard that Dantoonie is really bad on the video cards, and the ending isn't written out real well.  Of course, I'm only about 12 hours in, so we'll see.

Various short cutscenes are played when you visit the Ebon Hawk. Come back to your ship often to get more character interaction, etc. as some of these scenes open new dialog branches, etc.

If you're seeing a bunch of scenes in a row, that's because the game is playing them all since you haven't returned to your ship in a while.

The plot isn't as polished as KOTOR1 in the sense of everything being a neat little easy to digest package. However, it's much more in depth and better written. They actually make use of the game in the sense that the voice acting matters, the influence system changes things, visiting the Ebon Hawk and your interactions in 'group meetings' change things, etc.

KOTOR2 is a game where you can easily miss out on major details unless you do sidequests or check with party members. (or bringing them along in the case of Bao-Dur or "Mandalore")

In this sense, it's like the previous game these folks made Planescape: Torment.

Pretty much, the only sloppy part of the plot is the ending which Lucasarts forced them to cut a lot of due to releasing it early. Even then, it's better then a lot of games.

KOTOR2 is definately a game where the more I'm playing it with different party combinations the more I'm seeing. Which is why it's so important to have a saved games at critical plot points :)

Even small things like bringing Atton, Kreia, or T3-M4 along at Atris' academy can bring up different dialogs. For example, Bao-Dur analyses Atris' door's construction. Atton flirts with the Handmaiden's Sisters, and Kreia tells the Handmaiden a little about her twisted view of the Force. Each reveals a small bit of the plot that you'd otherwise miss.

Anyway, it's hardly poorly written. Unpolished? Yes. But I'm surprised that they pulled it off with a 10 month dev cycle...

I didn't like it much, the original was much better. It was very buggy for me. It was impossible for me to win a swoop race (I finished wit fast time but I was always told I have to finish the race), lots a dialogue was missing when I interacted with characters on the Ebon Hawk and it crased to th desktop often wen loading next area. It seems unfinished too...

Spoiler:
when you arm those generator things on Malacor 5 with Bao Dur's droid, you encounter that other interrogation droid. I then proceed to kill Darth Sion and Kreia (3 floaty lightsabers wtf?) and the game ends with te cutscene! what happens with those droids!?!

I love the bronze lightsaber though.

True, shame that they didn't have more dialogue and with other characters after last battle as was already planned like this one with Visas/Handmaiden

Spoiler:
andmaiden/Visas: You are leaving? I... I would come with you, if you will allow it.

Player?: No, I require you to stay here, at the Trayus Core, and train others, as Kreia trained me. You... cannot come with me. I need someone to stay here at the edge of known space, and show others the way. I need someone to show them the way. As Kreia showed me the way.

Handmaiden/Visas: Others? What do you mean?

Player?: Kreia spoke of Revan, and another war that waits beyond the Outer Rim. You must gather forces here, and wait. Yes, others will come. And you must train them until they are ready to pass on to the next war.

Handmaiden/Visas: Others?I... shall do as you ask. I shall train others who will follow.{Quietly, knows the answer is never} When will you return? I will do as you ask. If it is important to you, I shall see it through. Your journey... will you return?

Player?: Where I go, I cannot take anyone I care for. You must remain, for others will come.

{[Gameplay Programmer: Player walks off, in silence, and keeps walking toward the Trayus Core, and is gone. The Handmaiden (or Visas) watches the player for a time, without saying anything.]}

but was cutted, those who have PC versio can read whole orginal ending from dialog.tlk
