This thread is a re-start of the "Utility Freighter" one that's buried in pages of HLP history.

sorry I haven't updated in a while, i had some issues with Homework. (don't ask)

anyway, take a look at the latest pics.

notice the details on the guns and engines. I kinda evened out the R2 unit, and added the tuby thing on it.
To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

some objective critique?  Make the thinnest part of the laser cannons (before the semi-circle diffusion vanes) longer.  The laser focal rods (forward of the diffusion vanes) should be longer too.  Other than that, a good start!!!  I like the detail on R2 so far...he is so often neglected!

Hey, great progress!!!  I never doubted that it was hard and productive work...I was just offering suggestions for improvement...was not in any way trying to slander your work or progress.  I'm sorry if you took it as such.

yep!!!  that's about right...except...the smallest cylinder should be the one lengthened, not the medium thickness cylinder
--sorry, big Star Wars fan...;-)

You're absolutely right...big improvement!!  I wish I had the time to get into this stuff!!  I'm already impressed!  you obviously have the attention to detail that it takes to make great models like I've seen here in the past!

meh, i have an Xwing toy for reference :D

and I actually did lengthen the little cannon points, but if i move the points over too much it'll look weird.

aren't we all SW fans? i have the special edition on DVD, plus the original VHS videos :p

Oh man...VHS...YES!!!  LoL...I remember when I was introduced to SW...VHS taped from network TV:-)  For years I saw ESB from the point when Luke escaped from the Wampa.  When I finally saw the whole version, I thought it was some 'new' beginning they'd done or something;-)  Hey, I was like 8 years old, what can I say:-D

The older version's nose was better. Don't make it flat.

uh, actually, I haven't done the nose yet. I'm re-doing the body, and the nose as well.

and col. fishguts, that does help, but only to a certain extent. the toy has every little detail (except for the R2 unit :D)
