As per the children:
what if the emporer takes them and makes them siths...or those dudes in the red robes in ROTJ.

Looks pretty damn fantastic.. but then so did Episode 1 when the trailer for that came out so I'm not about to get too excited just yet.

As an aside, it looks like most if not all of the fighting takes place on/around Coruscant (I just realised that the location of Yoda/Palpatines fight is the senates council chamber... those "frisbies" are the platforms they used to talk to float about on and shout at eachother on...

There's a lot of references to the coming Empire though, prototype TIE fighters and an Imperial shuttle shown during the opening scene... Star Destroyers and so forth... and Anakin being suitably angsty as usual. If only those damn tribesmen hadn't killed his mother, the fate of the galaxy could've been so much more pleasent for everyone ;)

Oh puhleese... those "Star Destroyers" aren't. They're the big landing craft (very big, mind you) from the end of EP II. Readily identifiable by that tail they have sticking out the back.

And yeah, on the face of it, it looks pretty good. But like Thunder said, so did Ep I (and II). I'm not getting my hopes up.

Though of course I will go see it. :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Nothing to say that those landing craft aren't prototype SDs though, is there? I mean they have to get the idea from somewhere...

Yeah... Sandwich, those are Star Destroyer's predecessors. It's really quite obvious... also, if you look in the Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, it says Star Destroyers were first developed for the Republic.

And guys.. those tank things? Those are Juggernaughts. Finally, Lucas is taking something cool from the expanded universe...
Wh00t!? Vinyl? Is it like an I-pod 2 or something?

Looking forward to seeing the Emperor kicking some Jedi ass. Hopefully it won't leave me in tears of laughter like the Dooku-Yoda fight.

Dooku is fairly lame as Siths go. He's just Palpatine's temporary b!tch until he can seduce Anakin.

those guys in red robes were just the emperor's personal guards, weren't they?

Imperial Guards, IIRC.

I think they might've been force-sensetive, but not trained in the use of it.

Weird question though, if the emporer is so powerful why does he need personal gaurds?

I think they're mostly ceremonial.

But Palpatine isn't invulnerable. Sure, he can kick the ass of pretty much anyone in the galaxy, but if he got rushed by enough people he'd need some cannon fodder so he could run without being shot in the back.

No duh, really? The spearhead-shaped hulls didn't give it away AT ALL, honest!!!oneone

Doesn't negate the fact that those aren't "Star Destroyers" though - they're Acclamator-class trans-galactic military transport ships - aka. Republic Assault Ships. :D

I couldn't agree more. Freakin' green bouncy ball. :ick:

As for the red-cloaked Elite Guards, I don't get it. Why does everyone think they're all that? I mean, Obi-wan said himself that those "blast points, too accurate for Sand People. Only Imperial stormtrooper are so precise."

And then, of course, we see all over the Death Star that Imperial Stormtroopers can't hit the broadside of a barn door at 10 paces.

Which leads to the question: If the Elite Guard are so good, is it a relative "good" or an absolute "good"? Cuz I gotta say, the relative "good" ain't worth crap.

Maybe the Emperor likes playing ping pong and needs a steady supply of opponents?

Aldo.. I have a question. Whatever you're on, can I have some?

Sandwich: I didn't say they were SDs. It's obvious that they aren't... anywho. I generally don't go by the prequels; all my knowledge comes from the expanded universe and the original Trilogy.
