Classics - reclassified

Bumped into this the other day - the angels song is a must for Evangelion fans.
The others are worth a laugh too.
"I was going to become a speed dealer. If one stupid fairytale turns out to be total nonsense, what does the young man do? If you answered, “Wake up and face reality,” you don’t remember what it was like being a young man. You just go to the next entry in the catalogue of lies you can use to destroy your life." - John Dolan

Evangelion? It is very odd. If you insult it online, though, you'll be attacked by it's fans...

*Raises hands*

Oh not insulting it... Just don't understand it. I preffer Guiver.

From what I've seen, many of its fans would consider that an insult. Mind you, I don't quite get the end of the series either, and it's far too angst-ridden for my tastes.

This thread makes Rei sad.  You don't want to make Rei sad, do you?

This thread makes her sad? And here I was thinking it was the movie plans that were making her cry.

Nothing more sad than reading lyrics without having the music (or imagining it).

Anyway, whoever didn't like NGE, they just didn't understand it.

POW.

You do realize that there were links to MP3s right by all the songs, right?

See? I dont understand... Why she crying blood? Why the oddly sexual overtones with young teens? Tis...Too much... Though I do like the mecha's and the style, its just the plot. Oh yeah, and why is there a talking penguin?
I have returned... Again...

actually, I do want to make her sad. or even more than sad.

and I did 'understand' NGE and I still don't like it. for mecha series, there are far better ones around. for mind**** series, there are also far better ones around. also, saikano über alles.

Perhaps I should clarify. I understand what's going on in both the last few episodes of the series and in End of Evangelion, it's just that some of the incidents in that section of the series just don't seem to make much sense together. I can't get much more precise about it, though, as it's been a few months since I watched it.

NGE needs a lot of attention, rewatches, picking up details, cross referencing them; and extrapolating.
The story has several layers and is one of my favorite dramas...it does take your effort though to put it together...especially everyone has their own interpretation of it.
