It was a FS1 shot, explaining the plain shockwave. I played around with focused lighting and contrast, and changed the tonal map so that darker bits were darker and lighter bits lighter (the explosions were under-exposed in the original). Rendered a starscape (albeit just stars, but better than the FS1 backdrop) and weaved it in, also added some flares on the main explosions and blurred them out accordingly (since I was running in software mode - *curses Win2k's lack of support for my gfx card - and the explosions looked way too sharp). Made the shockwave redder, because it looked wrong in that ring of fire, and sharpened up the focus around the Herc so that you could tell that it wasn't so close to the explosion. Finally, hand-painted the warm glows around the edges of the Herc that happen when there is a trong light source behind you, because, well - FS doesn't.

Quite nice, really.
