Sorry to post 2 rants in one day, but...
Somehow i managed to get my FX5600 working again. Although not much, it is still an improvement over the Matrox.
So, i installed Brothers in arms, hoping i would see a good game, like MOHAA or something. Boy, was i in for a shock!
The voice acting sounds like something you would find on some lame flash movie over the net. The weapons sound like they are firing paintballs, or BBs. I had to laugh. I was laughing because fortunally i wasn´t dumb to have bought it. Thank god for P2P!
Anyway, it´s not the game being bad that pissed me off, it was the 9/10 point reviews it got! Gamespot atributed it 9 out of 10, outscoring even Doom3. What´s wrong with their reviewers? Are they insane?
Not only the game is bad, it is also so buggy that i broke in laughter when i came across some of them. Especially when i saw one of my team mates kneel down, and then "glide" away for 50 feet, while firing the gun, like he had kneeled down on a skate board. I laughed my behind off, until i realized i wasn´t amuzed at all. Then i stoped laughing...
Guys, if you like WW2 games, and you plan on buying this, i strongly suggest you try it out first. Grab a demo, or do as i do and "acquire" it. Don´t go and buy it outright, you´ll be sorry.
My review of the game:
-Graphics: 5 out of 10. (game looks like a year 2000 game)
-Gameplay: 6 out of 10 (average control, nothing out of the ordinary.
-Sound: 4 out of 10 (my BB gun sounds better than that)
-Replay value: non existant. (i´m not planning on playing it again, so the replay value is null)
-Voice acting: 4 out of 10. (only the main caracter voice acting is slightly better)
-Bugs: 10 out of 10. (perfect score here)
-Story: ? out of 10. (too early to say)
Average score: 5 out of 10. It´s hard to believe this game comes from the publishers of titles like FarCry and Splinter Cell.
