What is your favorite FS2 music track?
My favorite is Joshua. The creepy keyboard thingy really freaks me out. I like use it often in Shivan encounter missions.

So... What is your favorite track, hmmm? ;7

I don't have FS2 installed right now, so I don't know it's right name (Cinema is just a another name for that track; plays in the credits).

Hm... well, you have to be ingame to listen to the music(unless you downloaded them/used VPview), so I still say Cinema. :P

What is your favorite FS2 music track?
Definitely Revelation.  Nothing like flying to fast-paced beats, dropping Shivans left and right. :D Second is Cinema, for obvious reasons.  The music that plays during the final cutscene is also cool.

Scarily enough, this is the only track I would like to hear outside of the game, and for the same reason. :shaking:

Although, there is that one briefing track that's not bad. I don't know what the file is anymore. I'll look later.

What is your favorite FS2 music track?
FS2Cinema2.wav

Which, incidentally, is used as briefing music for the "Slaying Ravana", and so is ingame.

Then FS2_Btl_D01.wav, FS2_Btl_D02, and FS2_Btl_D03 (Numbers). FS2_Btl_FS2_Btl_E02 and FS2_Btl_E03 (Last two combat tracks of Exodus and the ambience track). And lastly FS2_Brief_05.wav.

Of the rest, I like most when properly used, but they don't qualify for "favorite" status.

Exodus...hands down.  It was a great pick for the FS2 demo when it came out too...fits the FS2 story tightly.

What is your favorite FS2 music track?
Oooh, good one.  I like Deuteronomy and Revelation probably the best out of the mission sound tracks, probably because they both pay a good bit of homage to FS1's music.  Which, IMHO, was far superior.

EDIT: And part of the reason that FS1 music is so good is that it's so distinctive.  Were you to ask someone who hadn't played either game since they were released but had played them before where the tracks came from, I think they'd pick out FS1's music pretty easily whereas FS2's is a little more generic sci-fi.

So good I can't really say which ones are best.  Some that come to mind easily:
  • m1_nrml2
  • m2_nrml1, m2_nrml2, m2_nrml3, m2_bttl1, m2_bttl2
  • m3_bttl1
  • m4_nrml3
  • m5_nrml1 and m5_nrml2
  • m6_nrml2, m6_bttl1
  • m7_nrml2, m7_bttl2
  • m8_nrml3
  • m10_nrml1, m10_bttl1, m10_bttl2, m10_bttl3 (silent threat)

Hmmm... For Fs1 tracks I like the m8 and m9 battle music the best. You're definatley right about the FS1 music uniqueness, StratComm. The only reason I like the FS2 tracks better is because of the vastly improved quality. Otherwise, I'd probably like them equally.

 I love the FS1 soundtrack. Especially Brief2, Title, m2_nrml3, m4_nrml3, m5_nrml3 and m8_nrml3 and Debrief01. FS1's music has an unique feel into it.

What is your favorite FS2 music track?
Depends on what kind of a mission it is.

Track G is good for capital ship combat. Tracks C, D, E, and F are good all around -- E especially when fighting Shivans, D for high-speed, and C for fighting Terrans or Zods.

I actually like Track B the least. It doesn't give me the feel that I'm in the fight, it gives me the "something big, important, and slightly creepy is going on without me" feeling.

But add FS1 music in there, and I gotta go with Monolith (Track 9) all the way. So fast paced.

What is your favorite FS2 music track?
FS2 Music (ingame):
1. Cinema - one of hte best around, for obvious reasons.
2. Exodus - best used in creepy missions against the Shivans. The sounds of beam cannons firing is a nice addition
3. Revelation - no explaination required

Fs2 Music (general)
The FS2 Intro. Although the FS1 intro had good music, the initial music, the transition to the fight and hte ambience afterwards as the speech rolled by in the FS2 Intro.......magnificent, to say the least. :)

FS1 Music (general)
Didn't listen to this very much as the port didn't include the music in-game...however, I loved the ones from ancients 1 and 5 hte best.

Ah, I forgot about Monolith for FS1; that was definitely the best.  It wasn't used at all in the main campaign, but I think it was used to great effect in the last mission of Destiny of Peace. From the music that was used in-game, I'd have to say track 8 (I can't remember the name); that was especially memorable in The Great Hunt.
