That's rather cool. Shame they didn't have that during the 2004 US Elections.

I just discovered that my constituency had a labour majority of 53% last year.

They did, but people go annoyed when only George Bush could edit the numbers on it.

Am I the only one suspicious about the fact that ITV are claiming that labour has 11 seats while the BBC is still only claiming 4?

While I'm at it considering the mess Blair has made of the postal voting system am I only one who is just generally suspicious?

I'm still disturbed to have used a pencil to mark my ballot paper.......

EDIT; I notice Labour have lost >=5% or so of the vote in every held seat so far.......

Yeah, always sneak a pen into the booth and mark with that instead ;)

And why are you given a specific ballot card if it's anonymous?

It was a really tough choice where to put my X, should I vote for the sake of the country or for the sake of my area, because the vote would be different depending on that.

My sister used to live it Honslow. It's a heavily muslim area. I wonder how much that had to do with this mistake?

I have nothing to do with British politics (Because I'm in the U.S.) but I'll ask anyways:  What are the major british political parties?

The first two are Labor and Conservative, right?

CBC runs the same thing when there's a Canadian election.  The system turn around is really quite quick.  I worked for Elections Canada in 2000 and its a very fast process...results come in for each area, done at a local station, everything is checked and rechecked, data is sent into the main system database and voila.

Frankly the whole US election system confuses me :)

The UK one I've never really studied in depth but it seems to be on the surface to be just as quick as the Canadian one (probably based on the UK version anyways).

Everything in the US seems to be done half-assed and backwards lately. Seems we're much more content pointing at the middle east, and fighting amongst ourselves over wether god intended evolution, or wether or not it really is mary's image on the underpass wall.
