Spoiler:
The Pegasus was a newer ship then the Galatica, presumably, so the different class make sense; the Galatica was being retired, after all. Its commander would probably not outrank Adama, though; presumably all Battlestars are commanded by people of the same rank, and Adama probably has date of rank on just about everybody.

You might upset the uber hardcore fans of the original BSG. They are very sensitive you know. They might start crying and whining about all kinds of stuff. Before you know it, they will begin marching down to Ron Moore's house with lit torches demanding a faithfull recreation of original BSG plotlines.

[color=66ff00]Yeah the original show was cringeworthy and utterly poor in parts, the new BSG has been excellent.

BTW am I one of the few that thought Atlantis was a good show? :nervous:

I quite liked Atlantis, although IMO it's still finding it's feet.  Got successively better during the 1st series, though; The Siege was class.

On the whole it was better than the first few episodes of stargate SG-1. I'm glad that show get better quickly cause although the pilot was good the first 3-4 episodes were really poor.

I kinda like Atlantis. Sure, it was cliche, OTT bad guys, and some flat characters. But it makes up for it with general fun... like playing a shooter game... and McKay. ;)

TBH its a lot better than some other stuff. At least it still has some highlights, considering we're talking about showrunners who have been at this forever.

If they have the pegasus, they ought to have an uber genious admiral that is incredibly a pain in the ass like in the original. I liked that guy.  totally insane.

  • This site stole my work
Hey IceFire, any rumours about who is cast as Commander Cain? Oh and Omni, I have honestly never met any BSG fans who don't like the new series. Are you sure they exist?
Be warned: This site's admins stole 100s of hours of my work. They will do it to you.

If Adama has been in command of Galactica for most of her 20 years of service, how would an officer half his age, in command of the same class vessel, be his superior?
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I would if I had something better than 56K dial-up. :(
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

I would if my ISP hadn't sent a nasty e-mail when I downloaded a SG:A ep that I missed.

Well, actually, I wouldn't, I'm a veteran of taping Sci-Fi: Friday. :p

Wait, was it because you pirated that episode, or because of the bandwidth you used?

Pirated the ep.

There was a letter attached from the MPAA as well.

Edit: Well, no, that's not entirely correct. Mostly COX just seemed concerned about the upload.
