First DOGA, Now what?

i'd actually like to start learning the fine art of modelmaking, and singh's works with DoGA got me wondering what this little proggy is all about.. so i made this one up.. a sleeper ship, backend mostly engine, and small amount of arms to ensure against natural threats (asteroids, etc)

do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil

Neat, though the tiny middle turrets look a tad odd.
actualy, mabye not.

****! Now I've got competition! And my god, that competition has totally pwned me!  O_O

*bows down to Turnsky

I didnt import any models into DoGA though....they were all locally created, including the Triest.

However, there is a site where you cna get a whole new library of parts, as well as a utility that allows you to import from any other format, its called metaseq or something...

ah, found it. Its called Metasequoa. You can find it here

Links for parts:
General site

Where I got most of my current parts:
More parts

ah, you can use metaseq for that, however I think the textures screw up real badly once you export.

But I'm using the beta versions, so it could just be the bugs; you may wish to try and export to .dxf or .d3d format if you can (its under file-->export--->choose format.

To export to Metaseq, export it as a part, and then import the .suf file into metaseq.

There's a tutorial around here somewhere about how to tweak it into games...let me find it.

gotta add more "AA" guns to the ventral side, it's a tad exposed...

i've always liked assymmetrical starships..

i was inspired by HW2's Vaygr destroyer for the siege dreadnaught, it houses 2 massive planetary artillery cannons (hence the name) and the rest provide it with impressive anti capital ship defenses.

I like the first shot of the "bengahli Siege dreadnaught" especially. Especially those many ridged spikes out the front. :)
