I dont see why anybody cares.  People over there are going to suicide bomb everyone else anyway, why try to slow it down?  I say let them continue until they're finished.  Less resources wasted.

I'm pretty sure they haven't actually been setting people on fire.

[color=66ff00]Replace one nasty piece of work that keeps the country in a relatively stable form to maintain his leadership (Hussein) with an army of religious goons that don't give a damn about the population and are willing to tear the place to ribbons?

That sounds like a great idea. :doubt:

If they are that persistent as has been shown, nothing will stop them.  Reasoning has no place for them, so it's useless to use reason against them.  Typical human behavior.

No ****. If it wasn't a hotbed for terrorism recruitment before, it is now; especially if a civil war breaks out.

But the since the government has an approval rating of 32%, I don't see what they can do to stop it. With their army and police forces in a rather weak state, and the US/Britain pulling their troops out, they will be hard pressed to be able to do anything.

God, if they hadn't spent a decade and a half demonizing him, the US would install Saddam as Prez in a second. He's perfect: like Allawi but the genuine article. A strong hand, so what if he goes overboard once in a while? He keeps the masses in check, and will come down on those pesky car bombers.

This is all to the benefit of the US, mind you. Blowing civilians up en masse isn't really the best way to maintain popular support. Part of my brain is yelling out "It's black propaganda you fool! Zarquawi is the CIA, it's so obvious!." But I have no proof one way or another. It seems the insurgency is just trying to **** the place up in general, which will eventually force the US to pull out, at which point they can control.

interesting!
he's turning into a regular slimy politition that Al Sadur fellow

I can see how someone could consiter the actions of the carbombing fucwits in Iraq to be the actions of some covert US opperation, but realy I have no confedence in there capability to pull something like that off, it's just stupid people, doing stupid things, sort of like Bush's actions, I can't tell you the number of times I've heard something and thought to myself "my god this guy has GOT to be trying to fuc up."

EDIT:  Oh yeah, why not just divide Iraq into two or more different factions?  That way, everyone can be part of an established government of their choosing.  And then the suicide bombings will be more orderly :).

:wtf: Iraq is already divided into 2 or more factions and look where it has gotten them.

The Sunni and Shiites may be two theoretical different factions, but they are under the umbrella of the same government.  Therein lies the problem.  Look at all the countries of the once great Yugoslavia.  Things aren't exactly the best over there, but atleast it is fairly stable.

Just because what the US (and also Iraqi special police commandos) has done to prisoners (and soforth) is wrong doesn't make this sort of action any less wrong; there's not been a single person I've seen post here who's claimed there's any justification for killing innocents.  The difference is really (IMO) that the US (and by extention the rest of the forces occupying Iraq) were expected to be 'better'.

Although I think I was predicting this type of situation to occur since before the war even began.  I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in that.

Incidentally, Iraq is 3 factions; Sunni, Shia, Kurd.  Turkey in particular won't allow the 'factionalisation' of Iraq because it fears the formation of a 'Kurdish homeland' which would cause Turkeys Kurdish areas to break away and join it.

Shi'ite happens.

People would have died under Saddam Hussein as well, but it would never have been publicised like this because nobody over here would care.

True they would have died, but not in these numbers. Besides which Saddam's regime was in it's twilight years anyway, the only concern would've been who was taking over (and the CIA could've fixed that easily enough).

I have a renewed anger about Iraq, because while we've been pissing around over there creating a source of terrorists, we've been doing nothing to stop the organisations that are linked to the bombing of London earlier this month.
