Which brings up the other thing that annoys me. The way BF2 really does encourage perm-base-camping. In BF1942 there was no reason to enter an enemies main base unless it was for the flag in CTF mode. Now all the morons leap into a plane at the start of the match, fly over and bail into tanks in the enemies main. They then ignore the UAV, guns, radar installation etc. and sit there spawn raping people over and over.

If all you have left is you're original base, and you can't make any headway even there, you were ****ed to begin with. I've never seen a team so bad as to succumb to something like that.

I personally really like the idea of the Commander role.

Sounds like you've just had some real ****ty teams, Kal. Give it another chance. And make sure to check if any other players use the in-built teamspeak. It really helps you coordinate with teammates.

I do keep meaning to give it another shot, but it's quite frustrating to go on there and only come across spawn rapers and so forth.

As for me - I'm a pilot by nature. I've never been happier than in the cockpit in a BF game. The trouble is, these spawn rapers generally 'chute out and into tanks then sit on the airfield runway and rape anything that moves.

I'll try again some time. Hopefully things will go differently. But it seems quite unbalanced at the moment.

@Kalfireth, yes and no. if you know how to hide and properly use your abilities spawn camping is rather difficult because you will easily be able to destroy the intruder. Besides vehicles are scattered throughout the map making capturing and holding CP important. Especially those with helipads. Those are very important. But that doesn't mean it never happens. There was one time in the vally map someone parked a transport on top of the hangers and just used the guns to destroy anyone who tried to get to the transports or Cobra gunships.

On a side note, my main complaint are the retards that have latency of 400 or 300 or sometimes 500 and are playing on a highspeed server. It ruins the game, I mean comon, play on a ****ty server and leave the fast servers for people with fast connections.

BTW: patch 1.03 is coming in the end of august.

Allthough I try to act as an allrounder I'm a pilot here aswell (as you propably know allready from the DC times ), and so I can symphatize with you on that point but hey if some screw up sits in a tank raping the airfield... blow it away --> one frag for you (propably by cost of a few deaths... bah who cares) and lot less frags for the prey
