"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Same here, Thrustmaster's Top Gun. Great tool, whether it's about flying a F4-U Corsair or a Perseus.

Even worse choice would be changing a name just because you know why. I've used this nick in the VBB and elsewhere for a long time and thus decided to use it here as well. It's not the name I use outside gaming stuff, though. Besides, there's a single r in it, not two.   It's formed from my real name "Tero", as a joke. Good for Counter-Strike.

Cheap-***  Saitek stick, with the tension cranked all the way up (Helps keep my Eurofighter on course that way, but you need the strength of ten men to move the damn thing...)

PS Now that I've signed up with Aldo, I feel maybe I should start posting here a little more often.

I used to have a Genius Thrustmaster joystick btu after neglecting it for almost half a year, it broke down.

So much for Taiwan engineering. I'm getting a force feedback joystick this time. Maybe from Logitec or Microsoft.

How do YOU play Freespace?
Have, both Logitech Wingman Force, and the Thrustmaster Top Gun afterburner, depending on which mood i'm in. Feel the Shakes, or feel the throttle. (also depends on which actually works in whatever game i happen to be playing.

Edit: And i just have to sya this, a freind of mine, whom i let borrow Freespace 1(pre-FS2) was able to actually beat the game on a laptop with one of those touchpad things.

Zander & Akrovah:

      WELCOME TO HLP!!!

In case of emergencies, exits are to the rear and left. Shotguns may be found under you seats. Buckle up and enjoy the ride, 'cause there's no going back from here!

That Seitek joystick is the one that looks like it was assimilated by the Borg, right? the one that can have it's buttons and stuff repositioned?
