Depends on the type of octopus and the type of shark.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

By the look of the movie, it was a baby shark vs a giant octopus.

Jeez, you people are no fun, just watch the clip and be amused. u_u

The scary thing is that I've seen that Octopus so much when visiting the Seattle Aquarium. It really isn't that big and used to be kept in a tiny little tank all by itself.

Different species.  That one looks like an pacific gaint octopus (Octopus dofleini), which could weight up to 600lbs (the heavest on record) and measure an average 16 feet long from a tip of an arm to another.  It's also a pretty intelligent creature.

Some are small (and poisonous) and the edible ones are pretty tasty :)

Unfair fight! That shark was tiny, and wouldn't be much harmful to humans either. I want a rematch with the same octupus against..something bigger.

The drawing of the shark is not the scary though.  Yeah, it's big but it looks quite cuddly :D

Pretty impressive stuff, sizes can be decieving, octopus aint little, and this was stated as being a pretty powerful one...

http://unmuseum.mus.pa.us/coloct.htm

Some people may remember this, the article states that even normal octopus can have spans of up to 23ft, i.e. longer than a great white, and, though personally I have my doubts, if this creature that was washed up at St Augustine was in fact an Octopus, then General Freak might have a taker for that challenge ;)

the shark didn't even have a chance, hell, it didn't even fight back, all it did was thrash around a bit.
