When it comes to flight sims, graphics has become secondary to me. The Ace Combat series have always wowed us with eye candy goodness, but has ALWAYS disappointed me in the avionics department. C'mon 50 missiles per fighter? I want REAL WORLD dynamic flight, not Top Gun maneuvering BS (F-14 cannot out maneuver the F-5 Tiger passed off as a MIG). When it comes to Jet sims I want a mix of realistic avionics with an arcade-like learning curve.
So far only 2 console Jet games met this criteria; N64's Aerowings Assault (made by the same company that makes military simulations) and Dreamcast's Aerowings 2. I HIGHLY recommend those games to hardcore wannabe jet jockeys. Those games had me dogfighting a SINGLE opponent for nearly 15 minutes thanks to the aircraft/missile physics and ADVANCED AI that actually tries to get on my six. Those games show that a console CAN make good flight sims.
This new games looks pretty, but if that and AC6 have space invaders gameplay, I'll hold on to my $$$.
