Accept the path of Origin and you shall be saved. Let Origin light the way.

Ermm... anyway interesting mid season finale. I thought that Gerrick was going to be the villain next season though.

...and my suspicions that the Ori were the fundies of the Ancient's society has been proven right. ;)

Galactica was also good, minus the whole: "I can insert optical cable into my wrist and shut down the Cylons! Whee!"

Next week should be great, the Atlantica looks like it's a different ship class than the Galactica.

The optical cable part confused me. I mean, I'm pretty sure that you aren't going to get a good optical signal from anywhere in the human body, no matter where you stick the cable. Seems like it'd be fairly easy to scan for it.

It was also disgusting.

And w00t @ Gerrick not being the villain. Although it was kind of cool to have another genetically-warped being on the show with telekinetic powers and such, the fact that it had anything to do with Anubis just annoyed me. Come on. Anubis' son? :wtf:

Although that may have been the point...

Am I the only one who's just waiting for an Atlantis crossover with Orlin trying to build a cure with 'primitive' medical equipment?

Fargate is really starting to flap its wings now.... about time. I insist we march over to Richard Dean Anderson's hous with torches and politely ask for more cameos, if not rejoin. I was pleasantly surprised with BOTH episodes. The previews didn't do them justice. They should hire ME to make those trailers not so corny. If it wasn't for BSG I never would have watched the episode because last week's trailers.

BSG..... excellent and delicious as usual.
Spoiler:
I loved the way the demoralization thread unfolded. I think Helo OWNED the chief.... before he found the wrench. I guess two dudes, booze, and 1 fembot is a bad combination. I busted The intercutting of the Cylon squadrons was EXCELLENT. Especially their arrival formation. I nearly pooped the pants when the tension hit its apex with Adama putting gun to her head.

Once again... this episode's trailer didn't do this episode justice. Oh No! A virus infects Galactica... I think Sci-fi channel should shoot the editor putting these together. I was motivated to watch tonight's line up just to see the Pegasus trailer. But honestly, this episode was so good, the trailer was was pale in comparison. Then again its the trailer.... we shall see. T-minus 7 days for the remake of the ONLY GREAT '78 BSG episode.

Meh the "TEH CYLONS ARE COMING!!!111" came off as rather cheesy. They just kept speeding and speeding towards Galactica which doesn't match with the FTL method in the series. The final fight and the ships jumping into the formations was great.

How I would have handled it is showing small squadrons of Cylons near planets and such that jump out. Each scene shows a larger and larger force with more raiders jumping in to join these groups that then jump out. (toss in the ships moving a bit for more eye candy)

There were three great BSG episodes, the one with the Pegasus, the one with Count Iblis, and the last episode (killing the basestar with a raider).

maybe the human cylons aren't as completly human as we have been led to beleive.

and did anyone else notice the conspicuous lack of the doci actior and use of stock footage from the season premeire during Garak's priorization.

Erm...it would be nice if there was some sort of spoiler warning for this thread. I read the first paragraph and didn't realize it was BSG before i hit "Cylons".

I think this was the Friday night lineup on the Sci-Fi Channel in general.

Some of the BSG ep was cheesy... like people making amends with Helo just because he suggested something cool for the hull plating, or the aforementioned opti-wrist. But those are nitpicks - great episode, as usual.

Side note: I watched the first episode of 24 (season 1) Friday morning at 4am (before I went to bed). Now I'm at... 7am I believe. It's good, but it's no BSG. More action, less emotional involvement.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

Speaking of downloading, despite having an HD TV today was the first time I was able to see the show in 720p.

"The Hand of God" and "Kobol's Last Gleaming Pt2" were damn awesome.

...of course now seeing the episodes twice in a year means they'll be burned in longterm memory indefinately... *grumbles* It's taken 10 years for me to forget enough about B5 for it to be enjoyable to watch the DVDs when buying them.

Also Carter's toaster jokes with Orlin was great, and this whole "I still love you, but it's not socially acceptable to do what I want to with you with my current body" thing was also funny.

Of course I would have written the Orlin toaster joke to include a tongue-in-cheek reference to Galactica: "Well Sam, I could defeat the Ori if the toasters you gave me were the ones that say 'By your command.' "

They made a McGyver joke too.

But I think that would've been a little too obvious. Something like:

"Would my toaster help?"
"Only if your toaster is actually a hyperintelligent android"

Or something.
