Hi all,

This month I'll be buying a new graphics card (Looking to spend around £200) for home use. I'd like some advice on what I should get, keeping in mind that I play games.

Any help (And links) would be great.

Thanks. :)

GeForce 7800GT, or wait till ATI's new cards hits the shelves in a month or two. As for links, just type "7800GT review" to google. If I were you, I'd wait for ATI's new cards, even if you buy GF7800 series in the end, at least it will push prices down a bit.

A couple of questions that are kinda important...

a) Does your motherboard support PCI-X, AGP 8X or something else? (AGP 4x ?!)

b) Do you have any preference towards ATI or nVidia? Both do good cards so it could really be down to you in the end.

Yep yep, this is important as is your power supply. Latest gaming graphics cards require at least 400W easily, go above 450W to play it safe.

PCI-X as far as I know, and I dont mind if it's ATI or nVidia.

To clarify things. PCI-X is NOT PCI Express as you might first think. PCI-X is older technology based on the regular PCI interface, PCI-X is mainly used in servers.

And you need to be sure whether your motherboard's got AGP or PCI Express. Check your motherboard manual.

Oh, my bad Fury - I didn't know there was a distinction.
