We're not putting you down because you're trying to contribute; we just don't think that what you've written belongs in the article about the GTVA, and it doesn't seem to fit in with the Wikipedia's general style.  Barring a few grammatical errors, it is a good summary of the Silent Threat plot (hell, it even makes it sound interesting, which is an accomplishment in and of itself :p); it just doesn't belong on Wikipedia.  Don't think that we're all knocking your work; after seeing that Pathways trailer, I'm really looking forward to playing the finished product. :)

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

No, it wasn't. In fact, I remember specifically that the GTA and the PVN were still seperate entitities during Silent Threat, and that the entire thing was a rebellion by the GTA's Intelligence Division - NOT the SOC, which is what the GTVA uses.

Also, as an off-topic note: Having read through the various seperate descriptions of the GTVA's formation, it's struck me that the controlling entity in the GTVA is actually the Vasudans, not the Terrans, as we are generally led to believe. If you read it, it seems that the Vasudans come out of the Great War better than ever, while the Terrans are fractured and only unite when the GTVA is formed.

The article seems to have the facts straight...its just the title thats wrong.

In Silent Threat, the GTA still existed...more or less.  There was a provisional government setup in Delta Serpentis (this is mentioned in the briefings).  After the events of Silent Threat, the GTA destabilized and fractured.  There were several smaller groups (usually by system) that competed and fought for a while.  Only when the Vasudans re-entered the game with Emperor Khonsu at the helm did things get better and eventually the BETAC treaty was signed.

This is all in the tech database of FS2.  Read it...alot of valuable history and information on what happened between FS1 and FS2 is there including the events of Silent Threat.

Cobra, I know you mean well...but in a community as small as ours, you've really got to get the facts straight when it comes to referencing cannonical works (i.e. stuff from the game).  Its just good form to check things over and be consistent.

If you were writing your own bit of fiction...go hog wild :D

Thank you so much for contributing. We all know that bashing Cobra because it was what everyone did is the mature way of handling things.

Dude, cut the crap. If you've got a helpful response that doesn't involve a one-line attack against Cobra, then feel free to post. Help Cobra out, don't slam him. Everyone else here is giving constructive advice, which I sadly say that you are not going along with.

As for the article: I've been always trying to write up an article on the GTI Rebellion and Silent Threat, though I've never really gotten around to it (actually, I did, but when I submitted a multi-paragraph, well-thought-out article, it got eaten in transit by the Wiki). It would be interesting to have an actual definitive reference on the rebellion though, outside of a tiny blurb in the FS2 Tech Room Reconstruction entry.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
