Ok, this was posted in the modding forum, but I thought it would be important to make a general announcement to everyone else as well.

We have altered our hosting procedures a bit recently. Concern was exhibited by the staff that we were taking on too much at once, without really getting a feel for where each hosted site stood. Let me explain the new policy to you.

1) Begin work on the campaign.
2) Submit a request for hosting to HLP.
3) We will take your request and place it on file to keep our eye on as work progresses.
4) After an unspecified amount of time, if your work is continuing strong, and has not become stagnant, then you will be contacted to move your stuff to HLP.

Basically, we decided that we would rather be known for good, quality hosted material, that has not just sat for months on end, versus hosting EVERYONE that has a good idea, and then just takes up server space? Catch my drift?

Don't ask me, my section of the site is pure HTML, no scripts required (even though it means I have to upload the whole page each time I update a section).

The 3dap server we're on doesn't allow any executing scipts (php, cgi, etc.) However, if you wanted something bad I think I could set it up on the dynamic server.

Yes but that requires for the site to make good use of them, good facilities at an amusement park does not make the amusement park good.

Due to some recent confusion with our hosting policy, I thought it was important for everyone to read the above again.

Two things to remember BEFORE applying for hosting:

• You MUST have a working website up and running. If you have to run from Tripod or Geocities just long enough for us to be able to see the concept and kind of what it will look like when we host it, you are more apt to be accepted faster, PROVIDED you meet all the other requirements.
  
• Unfortunately, we are unable to host just ANYBODY who requests at this time. There ARE certain guidelines you must adhere to in order to be considered. One of these is "Unique Content." Campaigns are obviously an exception to this rule, since we will host multiple campaigns. However, we will NOT host 5 sites dedicated to renders, etc.
• If HLP already HAS a section dedicated to the concept you have developed for your site, then consider emailing one of the staff of that hosted site and ask if there is anything you can do to help them out. (ie, combine all of your work into one site). There is no guarantee that they will accept your offer, but at least you can attempt to carry on your idea, in one way or another.
