Heh heh. I suppose she won't have any trouble getting money to fund her action if it becomes a problem, the whole world will be willing to donate a few bucks just to watch RIAA getting screwed in court.
Probably away. Contact through email.

[color=66ff00]Are you forgetting that the RIAA et al have the support of many ranking politicians and judges?

It will take an overwhelming amount of pressure for any good to come of this. Also the media need to get involved in a big way, otherwise the RIAA will simply pass it off as a mistake, pay out an insignificant amount of money (for them) and keep on doing what it's been doing.

I'd love to see some good come of this but you have to realise that in the case of the RIAA the corrupt run it and the corrupt support them.

but dont forget M, the currupt are against it as well.... IE hackers piraters, etc. this country was built on bootleggin, and the black market. so i doubt the RIAA is going to do anything signifficant other than sueing little boys and girls.

Yes but those corrupt people still compete for office sometimes...so on the off chance they may upset a sizable demographic...if the RIAA gets nailed on this one...the politicians will jump ship like rats leaving a burning garbage scow.

What's really sad is that the computer sector who have a financial muscle that makes RIAA look like a cornershop haven't weighed in on this.

They might see what direction the wind is blowing before throwing their lot in, losing a court battle to the RIAA adds pressure on them to meet their demands, so it's probably better to make sure this is a determined and organised group who are aware of what they are entering before rolling out the cannons ;)

This sounds like a good time to ask, is there a good site out there with music from non-RIAA artists?

Edit: Oh, and I'm buying nearly all my CDs used. The last new audio CD I bought, I believe, was the Kill Bill CD the week the movie came out. I _may_ buy the Serenity soundtrack; it had some good music and I'd like to show my support for it, which somewhat offsets the feeling of supporting what seems to be a totally corrupt industry.

I haven't downloaded any MP3 from online for a looong time. So it's definitely not Bittorrent which is causing the primary loss of revenue here... :)

I like Bearsuit, but no one else seems to. they had like 2/3rds of all there music on there site for download at one point in time, but they redesigned there site and haven't gotten most of it back up yet. if you like what you find I can give you a LOT more.

and I think most people went on a sort of downloading frenzy when the concept first hit, getting all the music they wanted and when they got it all, there was nothing more to get and the new music being created isn't as in demand as the older music. I my self haven't DLed any song in ages, I've bit torrented a bunch of TV shows that I missed, but asside from that not much from me on the pirateing front.
