This is old like last weeks dirty laundry. Seriously, I saw news of this like...half a year ago.

I'm under the assumption it's pure balls. Nonsense. Noone could be so stupid as to try to REMAKE a good movie.

Oh...wait...

Because once in a great while remakes are just as good as their originals? (like War of the Worlds. Spielbergs version so much more interesting than the original, even though the end was a total letdown)
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

With War of the Worlds both are film versions of the book. Neither one can really claim to be the original.

I don't think there was a predator book that came out before the film though.

remakes are only good if they ****ed up the first time, as in both of those cases they did, bsg in that they tried to be the next starwars and failed miserably, and in oceans 11 in that the first version didnt have george clooney :D

Spielberg remaking Sugarland Express?
A TV spin-off of "The Terminator" in the works...
Schrieber on Batman Begins 2
Robocop back on duty
Lundgren returning for Universal Soldier 3?
Kirk Jones is the new Blade
Hoffman confirms Saw 3
-----------------------------------------

And that's from just that one page. It's as bad as the computer games industry these days, people would rather jump on an intellectual bandwagon than take a risk, it's as depressing as hell to be honest.

You do not diss Batman Begins 2 (which is a stupid name btw) without good reasons, son.

hehe, I'm not dissing the content of them, I've never seen them so I can't really comment, I'm more annoyed that producers who are established and succesfull would rather rely on regurgutating their old stuff than trying to find new talent and writers and promoting/expanding the film industry.

It's these peoples reponsibility to the Movie industry not to simply jump on the 'quick buck' train and allow the industry to stagnate. Even Speilberg has made one 'remake' and is talking about another, what happens when a man who was hailed in the 70's as the most original and thought-provoking film-producer Hollywood has known, starts producing remakes?

yes, the title should be "Batman Continues"

the third instance would be "Batman Ends"

the fourth "Batman Goes on for Just a Bit Longer"

the fifth "Batman and the Phoenix Order"

Guess will have to wait and see what crap falls our way.

Hell if they do re-make predator it might not end up bad.

you cna have commandos and several predators fighting like crazy.. Mayhaps we can finally see a more realistic approach to surviving devastation.

In the original they sprayed the forest with the painless, granade launchers and several machineguns - they leveled a entire area and the Predator gets hit by ONE bullet!?!?

I think it got hit by more than one bullet, but only one actually made it bleed.

Umm, then that wouldn't be a remake, would it? It'd be a different film.

No - when it kills (damn, I forget his name) the big guy with the silly hat and minigun, his mate piles in and shoots it up with his machine gun thingy. It gets hit in the leg, and the blood splashes onto the leaves. By the time the guy picks up the minigun and hoses the jungle, the predator has already jumped away into the trees (a reasonable theory, given that that's how it moves around), hence it doesn't get hit.

When's the last time you've seen a re-make that's completely like the original?

Regardless, I wanna see a minigun dealing death.. a lot of it

The only way a Predator movie would be anything remotely resembling decent would be if they drafted James Cameron to write/direct it.

Or me.

Anyone else will just pack it with carnage and special effects and Predator ships and ****.

they can't remake Predator. only films that look and feel outdated can be re-made. Predator is too recent and has sequels that have come out even more recently. maybe in 20 years they can do it, but it's too soon.

Your suggestion isn't even remotely like the original though. Predator = blokes getting bumped off by invisible monster. That's the basic idea (and the whole point of the film, in fact). You want something different. ;)
