With the amount of money you spend on a lowrider, you probably could afford something like a Porsche or Ferrari....

Stand down man, everyone can have an opinion - no need to be arrogant.

As an aside, there's an American APC (WW2 era half-track) about 7 houses away from mine in a garage along with a military hospital car and a few other things. It even has a (deactivated) Browning gun.

if you're talking about what i said to you, it's because you were derailing our already derailed topic  :p

if you're talking about Thorn's ignorant statement: that's not an opinion, he made a statement, which i would be more than happy to prove wrong.  blatantly wrong.

I'd worry about derailing it... but everyone here snatched up the new train of thought - including you. No need to comment to me about it when you jump so readily on the bandwagon, sheep :p

I was talking about Thorns, and your arrogance is unneeded. I don't think it's that hard a concept to grasp. Still, it must make you feel important.

I still don't think that there's much need to make a car hop two feet off the ground. Ever. It's not cool, it's silly.

2.8:  The size of the engine in liters.

What you can't see are the little european tag stickers between the VR6 and the A3.

And, it doesn't really cost 150k to have a lowrider, so you wouldn't be able to buy a ferrari for the amount of money you spend on a lowrider. Could u end up spending a lot on fixing up a car?  Hell yeah, but that's part of the point:  You actually spending time and effort on a car making it personal, in the style you want, with a statement you want made.  A car no longer becomes something that takes you from Point A to Point B, but a personal statement about yourself.

That's why I think someone who actually works on their car and mods it usually appreciate their car more than someone who just buys it off the lot.

True, it'd attract my attention all right, but I'd be thinking "What the f***'s wrong with that bloke's car? It shouldn't be doing that!" :D Just my opinion, though - it doesn't bother me that people do that kinda stuff to cars, but I wouldn't do it meself. I'm not really into cars (can't even drive yet) - I spend my money on music and guitars :)

J3Vr6: A 2.8? Bloody hell. I didn't think VW put engines that big in the Jetta. Or was it a mod?

2.8 is stock for the Vr6.  It pushes 174 horsies stock.  Mine was up to about ~210-220 before the accident.

You can get a Ferreri for a lot less than 150k.
I never said anything about it being new.

OK, and can you get a Ferrari for under $20k?  because i know many people that have competition grade setups, candy paint, chromed out engine compartments and undercarriage, wrapped frame, interior upholstery done, the works, and have spent well under $20k.  oh but wait, very old Ferraris you probably can get for under 20k  OK, so what was your point again?  That lowriders aren't worth it because they're so expensive? heh.

Well what else could i have said in reply to his blatantly wrong statement?  OK perhaps i could've said:
"Now thornsy, what you just said isn't completely right, so let's go over it, so i can explain to you where your logic is flawed" but i chose not to, because i don't like him. if it was someone else, i probably would've just corrected him. you can call my reply arrogant *shrugs*... but it was an arrogant reply to an ignorant statement

And is there a need to spend $400K+ on a car that can hit 220 miles per hour, when the most you'll probably EVER drive it is 100mph on the highway?  Of course not.  Yet you still are attracted to exotic, expensive sports cars (such as the one you posted earlier) are you not?

Well so am i :p, but not all lowriders can 'hop' ;)  In fact not many can.  99% of "lowriders" can only raise and lower each side, which, you have to admit, is pretty cool... being able to park the car, and let the whole car just 'lay frame' ;)  At least i think it is.  "Lowriders" by definition can adjust their suspension, to ride 'low', high, etc.  Circus Hoppers are what the cars that bounce a foot in the air, bounce the front end, etc. are called, and they're usually more expensive because you have to reinforce the entire frame.

Ok, maybe not a Ferrari, but you can get a relatively new Porsche for under 20k. Canadian. Working.

Stealth, if you can't post in a thread without being unpleasent about other forum members then you doom the thread to lockage. I advise you not to make a habbit of it - keep your issues with people to yourself (and that goes for everyone).

I don't want to keep locking threads as a result of this kind of thing, it's far easier to ban. I've had a bad day anyway so I really won't hesitate. Please don't tempt me.

Locked.
