I can't believe there are still thin-skinned people on this net.  On another board I'm at, a newbie made a mistake, something that was blindingly, obviously wrong.  When one person (only one person, mind you) made a sarcastic comment, he returned and said 'I thought this board was supposed to be friendly'.  Dude, you missed every single reference to the game in question, thinking it was something totally different.  That deserves a little ribbing.

Anyhow.....back to avoiding homework.

The average person is a pampered baby anymore, so I'm not really surprised.  You can't say anything that could possibly be negative, even in the most positive light anymore with out cries of "You're hurting my feelings!"  I think that's why I can never get people to make honest comments on pieces of fiction or otherwise.  And when they do, some jackass *****es that they were being mean.  God, I hate this planet sometimes.

I hate being PC. Sometimes I think that the behavior of groups like the NAACP only prolongs rascism...

Of course, I go to absolutely no effort to avoid offending people- if people are that touchy, well, screw them!

Did you hear how some feminist group is forcing- I think it was the Westminster Dog show to stop referring to female dogs as "*****es"?   True story!

I am extremly light, even for my small size. But nobody messes with me. Why? Cause their all scared of me. Why? Well, one good reason is one time I was ambushed in town by three people bigger than me, coming from behind they caught me completly by suprise and manged to get quite a few hits into my head. It didn't hurt. When they ran off, they were suprised that I chased after them.
Put it this way, all were hospitalised, one broken nose, one broken arm and one broken leg (what can I say, I like a bit of variety  ).
Then I nearly get taken to court for it. And I still don't care...

From dumb newbies and hurt feelings to strength and body weight.  Woah.

Back on topic, I'd have to agree that no matter what you post these days, someone seems to get offended.  It could be the most innocent topic ever but someone will try and pick at you because they thought it was mean.  I dunno how it happens.  Maybe there's special, insulting subliminal messages in certain posts that set people off.  Maybe it all takes place at a really subconscious level.  The fact remains that people can be seriously touchy about stuff that's just plain true.  I tend to call it an "aggressive sense of denial".  I saw less pointless bickering and nitpicking in 8th grade.

I tend to call it "frivolous lawsuit". Which is the real motivation most of the time.

Then again, it's amazing the subjects that get covered on these boards without anyone ripping off headz...

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Yes indeedy but on the whole we don't get too many idiots and people around here see intelligent discussion as being a higher priority than petty squabbling. Lets hope we can start a trend

Of course, I wonder what the average age is round here compared to the other boards...
I told you that It would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...

I'm working on something new... shhhhh, it's a seceret.
