I think that anything that could eliminate the snooze system would also disable the alarm entirely.

Overkill. Since Helii are so much stronger than Harbingers, and Harbingers were used to annihilate planet surfaces.....

Fire a helios in atmosphere, and it'd probably bring about nuclear winter.
