First shot is nice - but with a caveat that it's not in motion or owt, and that it's not all that hard to do photorealistic backdrops (you just need a nice high-res camera and texture space, as most rooms are rather low on polys). There's actually something rather odd about that shot, IMO, it almost looks like the background is pre-rendered or something (I know it won't be - there should be no need - but there's some strange discontinuity between boxed models and it IMO)
I think the Xbox360 version of Fifa was/is the best example of the problems we're going to see in the next gen, though - it was ****e, and moreso was a massively cut down version of the other format versions of the game, with an apparent emphasis on useless graphical stuff like 5 inch blades of grass. Unfortunately I'd expect that to be the trend for the first few years of the 360 and PS3 (not the Revolution as, reportedly, it's very similar to the GC in development terms, so you could easily 'port' knowledge of GC development to get up to speed).
Actually, the Rev is currently my 'most anticipated' console; I wonder how you could play this type of game with that controller (use the stick to bob and weave, and 'flick' the remote thingy to throw punches? - that could be ace IMO) - I'm really rather disillusion with this whole '5th generation' (or whatever number it is) stuff now, it seems a case of Emperors New Clothes syndrome.
