Chrono Symphonic - Possibly the best VG remix project ever?
A tribute to Yasunori Mitsuda's soundtrack for SNES Japanese RPG Chrono Trigger was released a few days ago. Their attempt was to make Chrono Triggers soundtrack to sound like a composition from a movie.

Quote
"Chrono Symphonic is a project a long time in the making. Starting from the autumn days of October 2004, and ending in the wintry days of January 2006, it’s been a labor of love for everybody that has been a part of it. Initially designed to be the soundtrack for the long-desired Chrono Trigger movie (no, the movie doesn’t exist and probably never will), it encompasses 18 different artists' takes on the way such a film should sound in an orchestral setting, and many more on how it should look and feel. Never has such an abundance of talent been thrown into such a powerful calling, and never has the game Chrono Trigger, which many of us grew up playing, known so much love."

The real wonder is that, for a fan community driven remix project, they have succeeded in their work. And if you are familiar with Chrono Trigger soundtrack, all the better. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys classical music, performed with or without real instruments.

And the best of everything, it's free. :)

You can download the tracks with torrent, includes lossless FLAC files, MP3 files and cover art:

OCRemix.org is one of the greatest things the Internet has ever produced, hands-down. :D
