Ah Quantum Leap was class. 5 o'clock sky one, every weekday I'd be there.

Wasn't it revealed that in the last episode the whole 'random' side of the leaps was actually God's plan and that up till that point Sam had only been proving his worth for a greater responsibility? To become an angel or some such?

So essentially what an0n said.

The ending was open to debate. Got a lot of stick at the time IIRC.

...and now, maybe just now, people are starting to realize why Enterprise having time travelling aliens was even more cheesy than just the basic premise? ;)

The end of Season 3 of Enterprise was actually quite good. The time-travelly stuff was vastly less stupid and made more sense, and everything went together well.

:wtf: The end of Season 3 was beyond stupid. It took B&B about 3 minutes to ruin the finale of an otherwise excellent season.

No I mean season 3. (Haven't seen the end of season 4 yet).

The whole series had a great plotline about the Xindi which worked brilliantly and then in 3 minutes at the end of the episode we have the result of B&B's 5 minute brainstorming session on how to engineer a cliffhanger ending that had nothing to do with the whole rest of the episode but did have nazis and time travel in it.

It was just completely unnecessary and I was really glad when they got the Nazi episodes over and got back to the main plot in season 4.

And the physics of it were totally consistent throughout. Granted, they never mentioned much, but the things they did mention were fixed and unchanging.
I was a huge QL fan, but... no.

At first nobody could see Sam's true form. Then children, the insane, animals, guys with funny hats, and basically whatever the plot required could see him.

And then there's the thing with his ability to leap "within his own lifetime". They made a huge deal out of that, repeating it in the opening sequence for almost every episode. But then in the last season they broke down and started doing "celebrity leaps". Sam is Elvis! Sam is Marilyn Monroe's chauffer! Sam is Lee Harvey Oswald! Yeesh.

I thought the Marilyn Monroe and L H Oswald were pretty good. Not the best, but interesting.
