I love that star - and the planet is real nice too, though it would be nicer without that poly up the top.

I don't know if it'd look better - atmosphere is overused around here.

I think it ended in a tie - people want pretty stuff but acurate where possible.

And atmosphere is used around here because without it planets look kinda bad (if you don't get the lighting right).

It has an atmosphere... but not much in it  
No clouds, not much moisture, few chemicals... just oxygen, nitrogen, etc. Stuff you can live on.

My next planet's gonna have all that stuff in it, but I haven't done all the fun closeups on this one yet, so...
