A time for reflection...
This would especially apply to those of you who played FS1 before FS2.

Remember how we loved FS1? Then remember when FS2 came out, and we were amazed at how the graphics had improved, even on the ships we had grown to love from the first one.

Now imagine if a FS game was built on the graphics engines available today!

Wow.... *sigh*

Speak for yourself - if a game looks crappy I don't enjoy it as much as one where the visuals have had some tender loving care. I'd love to see FS developed now, it'd rock.

ooooooook, then try to play Wing co4. It was great, good plot and all, I remember trying to play it some months ago. Impossible, it was too ugly.

Well, obviously, graphics and sound and what-not can't replace good solid gameplay. But naturally, yes, making things look better is definitely a plus - unless you can't run it

Graphics are fluff. Playability, fun levels, and skil requirement are everything. Back in the day, when everything was CGA, they needed to have some substance generally to make it worthwhile, and there were only two types of games: good and role-playing. Nowadays...[sigh] okay, mediocre, special effects, bad, and role-playing.

I'd normally say graphics are important, but I've dsicovered otherwise - playing old SNEs games like Actraiser & Mario is still more fun than most of my fancy pants 3d accellerator games

Not to mention great movies as well.

I can honestly say that I was a bit disappointed with Red Faction's ingame cutscenes. Only the the parts where the transport headed to and then away from Mars was nice.
