I've been in a grand total of 1.5 relationships. One actual girlfriend, with one who was just leading me on and guy-crazy. However, as soon as my girlfriend called me over the phone saying specifically: "Rot in hell, asshole," I think I really gave up.

So, yeah, kick his ass. Then have a talk with her afterwards. If she seriously doesn't see you kicking his ass as a testimony to the fact that you really want her above anyone, leave her. I can't really see any better testimony than a swift, jealousy-pumped ass-kicking.

Addendum:

Females aren't complex. Simple in exactly the same way as males, just in a different way. Once you get enough experience and are able to grasp the concept, things should come easy.

Practice makes perfect. In the end? Heh. It's worth it if you know what you're doing.

Eh.  Never had much luck with girls.  Never was really interested in dating either.  It was kind of bred into me over time during 7th to 12th grade.  Think about it.  You think the average junior or senior high girl would date someone in special ed?

There was one I knew about 3 years back, but she was more ****ed up than I am socially, and never got herself together.  Less than a year ago, her adopted brother got arrested, and then she ran away from home before finishing high school and said she would be heading down to D.C.  that was the last time I saw her and probably never will again.  Such is life.

Im not too experienced with girls, but from what I know (im almost 16, which shows how little I know) The nicer you are to them, the nicer they are to you...  By nice, i dont me complement every action, none of that oh wow ur so hott suck up moves...  they dont work...

Just be nice, modest, and caring, unless she prefers different...

Always look out for #1.  Er.. Yourself.  I would have to say that women would be attracted to men who are confident about themselves, over men who are confident in others before themselves.  If you show that your confidence relies upon the woman you're trying to go with, she'll take advantage of you for sure. Since a lot of girls also appear to be selfish, be selfish yourself!  Give and take, and if she's unwilling to give, then to hell with it. 

But I have to disagree with using them for pleasure.  That's just so wrong on so many levels with me, that it disgusts me.  No one should do it, yet a lot of people do.  Go figure.

hey, good call adwight. i applaud you. she sounds like a real ***** at heart. better luck next time, but seriously, dun go into 'ooh i love you thing', and dun believe anyone who tells you that unless you have like a year's experience with them to back it up.

Love can be quicker then that...I learned that the hard way. I had the exact same "You haven't known her long enough, don't say that," attitude. So I didn't say it, and the universe went "Hahaha, screw you!", she left, and I ended up with six months of depression.

Whoops.

This particular problem has never happened to me, however. This probably has something to do with my personality preferences (quiet, gentle...unfortunately a dying species), and probably something to do with the fact that I make it clear where I stand on the subject going in.

First sign of a useless relationship right there N, the need for the "I love you" and the timing for it (especially in the early stages). If you can't tell instinctively by observing actions and opinions on the context, you probably aren't ready for the whole thing in the first place. And that ties into what icespeed said: "year's experience" aka "frame of ****ing reference" is pretty much a requirement for anything that isn't a dice shoot or short of insane.

Six months of time knowing her isn't long enough for you? Actually I knew her for longer, more then two years, but for only six months did I know her by name; the rest of the time it was simply that I saw her around often. If that's not enough for you, too damn bad. Things don't happen when you're ready, they happen when they're ready. Very few of us are blessed with the ability to make reality adapt to us. We have to adapt to reality.

It would probably have been doomed in the long run, I grant that. I stacked the odds against myself by ending up with someone who had some emotional issues and needed a lot of reassurance. Odds are good I would have managed a Massive Screwup^TM at some later point if I hadn't then. But maybe not. Or maybe I would have had the opportunity or the brains to do effective damage control when I did finally make a Massive Screwup^TM. As it was, I didn't. (I probably did have the opportunity...but not the intelligence.)

A lesson learned, then. Pick up, move on, once you're able.
