IF anybody is still alive I didn't get home till just now. Last ditch effort on hosing a game is up on the tracker 28342

Whew!  Extracting from the .sow file worked!  Thanks CP! :)

It was very odd because at first it made the same crash when I shot at the door in the first level, thus making me think that it didn't work.  But then I went back and played again, but instead of going through any doors, I blew up a robot to see if explosions crashed the game.  It didn't, and then I tried commiting suicide just for the heck of it.  Again, no crashing, and I decided to quit out of the game by shooting the door (thus casuing the instant CTD)... and of course!  The door opened up without any problems.  I was rather surprised and ecstatic. :D

So, two clients couldn't see each other, that pretty much sums it up.

hey, this is "taylor." Yeah, I'm not quite sure why that happened--I couldnt see Mars, vice versa--but I'm gonna set up a game on the tracker for a few minutes, just to try one last time...

what linker errors did you get?

A local test with 3 players resulted in the other other players being visible to each participant.

Should darklord try hosting again with you there, it might shed some light on the subject.

There had been a bug once where only the server could see all other players, and the other players could only see the server, but it has been fixed over a year ago, and as I said, a local test didn't reveal any anomalies here.

Still no one could see anyone's game it seems? I'll try putting mine up via tracker instead of not and see if that changes anything. It'll be up at about noon Pacific time on Monday.  :yes:

Sorry, didn't notice your post earlier. I got around most of the errors, which had to do with the library file locations, but there is still this one left:

libmve.lib(decoder16.obj) : fatal error LNK1202: "C:\Apps\VS\d2x-xl\VisualC\d2xgl\Debug\vc60.pdb" is missing debugging information for referencing module
Error executing link.exe.

I'm not really a programmer so I don't know what this means.

Can anyone see it? It's up now as I type. It'll stay up as long as it stays stable, even if I'm not in it. *shrugs*

Packets per second should be around 10, otherwise things get really choppy.

Well, fiddlesticks.

To my own probable demise, I'll try turning off windows firewall, and change packets to 10. Can anyone see it now? Same IP and whatnot.
